The 2009/10 Premier League season was one of the most dramatic title races in the history of the competition. There were constant twists and turns which saw the battle between Chelsea and Manchester United go down to the last day of the season. Chelsea lifted the trophy for the first time since 2006 as United fell just one point short of a 12th title. The pursuit for fourth spot became a tight affair between Manchester City Tottenham Hotspur Liverpool and Aston Villa. For much of the season the entire bottom half was separated by only a hand full of crucial points... as Sunderland Bolton Wanderers Wigan Athletic West Ham United Hull City Burnley and Wolves all had to fight the drop zone.
