Coming-of-age British war drama based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo. Tommo (George McKay) and Charlie (Jack O'Connell) are two teenaged brothers from a poor Devonshire family. The outbreak of World War One shatters the family's rural idyll as both boys join up, leaving behind the beautiful Molly (Alexandra Roach), with whom they are both passionately in love. As the young men face the horrors of war, their brotherly bond is subjected to the ultimate test.

A dramatisation of his own novel by Michael Morpurgo (WAR HORSE), dealing with the lives of two brothers caught up in the brutalities of the First World War. After his younger brother Tommo volunteers to fight in the war, Charlie follows him to flanders in order to protect him. However, the brutality of what they experienced was far beoyond either of the boys' expectations. Furthermore, missing home and far removed from their family lives, they find themselves butting heads while trying to work for the affections of the same woman, Molly Monks.
