Katharine Hepburn stars in this 1930s comedy adapted from the play by J.M. Barrie. Phoebe Throssel (Hepburn) is eager to marry Dr Valentine Brown (Franchot Tone) and so is disappointed when he decides to go away to fight for his country in the Napoleonic wars. By the time he returns, ten years have passed and he is convinced Phoebe is an old maid.
