War drama written and directed by John Boorman. Taking place almost a decade after the events of 'Hope and Glory' (1987), the now 18-year-old Bill Rohan (Callum Turner) is beginning basic training for mandatory military service during the ongoing Korean War. While under conscription, Bill befriends fellow serviceman Percy (Caleb Landry Jones) and the pair are soon appointed Sergeant Instructors under the watchful eye of Sgt. Major Bradley (David Thewlis). Still living in his family home on the Thames, Bill returns to quiet domestic life when not causing mayhem with his new friend or romancing troubled blonde Ophelia (Tamsin Egerton). After being introduced to the family, Percy seems to acquire an admiration for Bill's returning sister Dawn (Vanessa Kirby), who recently fled her husband and children.
