Their talents along with the Ford GT won them the Le Mans epic for the first time in 1966 where Gurney also for the first time sprayed champagne on the racing podium! Following the win Gurney focused on Indy car racing and became the first driver to win championship races in all major categories Formula 1 Sports Cars Stock Cars and Indianapolis cars.
