Romantic comedy starring Kate Hudson as Helen Harris, a 20-something Manhattan socialite with a successful fashion career. However, her dream lifestyle is brought to a shuddering halt when she gets a phone call to inform her that not only are her sister and brother-in-law dead, but she must now assume reponsibility for their three children aged 15, 12 and 5. Convinced that she can bring them up and maintain her hectic schedule, she throws herself into her new responsibilities - but soon finds herself burnt out and unable to cope. An unlikely source of support - and, over time, a deeper attraction - comes from the children's school principal and local pastor Dan Parker (John Corbett).
