This half hour, beautifully animated, magical fantasy story is based on the best-selling book by Children's Laureate Julia Donaldson and gifted illustrator Axel Scheffler. It stars (voiceovers) Gillian Anderson, Rob Brydon, Martin Clunes, David Walliams, Timothy Spall and Simon Pegg among others.
A witch's cat is has his nose put well and truly out of joint when his mistress allows other animals (a dog, a bird and a frog) to ride on her trusty broomstick along with them as a reward after they helped her to find her lost hat, bow and wand. The extra weight... causes the broomstick to become top heavy, uncomfortable and rather uncontrollable.
The broomstick is eventually destroyed by a greedy fire-breathing dragon who is intent on eating the witch but her loyal animal friends group together and save her once again. Full of gratitude the witch designs a sumptuous new broomstick which has room for all of them to ride together in complete luxury.
