Irish drama starring Maxine Peake and Will Forte. Vanetia (Peake)'s husband Conor (Edward MacLiam) has recently suffered a stroke which has left him in a regressed mental state and unable to love and care for his family in the ways that he used to. Ted Fielding (Forte), an American doctor researching a book on similar conditions, comes to stay with Vanetia to observe Conor's capabilities of continuing his relationship with her and their two children. Initially, Ted is detached but omnipresent in the family's daily life which begins to irritate Vanetia, but as the pair strike up an unlikely friendship she starts to find comfort in his presence.
