Mark Kidel directs this documentary about the relationship between world-famous classical pianist Alfred Brendel and his apprentice, the brilliant young prodigy Kit Armstrong. The film follows the pair over the course of two years as Brendel, nearing retirement, passes on his wisdom and experience to his outstandingly gifted pupil and sets him on the road to becoming one of the great composers of our time.
