In Teresa Prata's haunting drama, a lost boy embarks on a quest to find his missing parents in post-war Mozambique. After the desolation of the civil war during the 1990s, Muidinga (Nick Lauro Teresa) finds himself alone. Discovering a diary beside a roadside corpse, he learns of a woman on a ship who is searching for her lost son. Convinced the woman in question is his mother, Muidinga sets out to find her, and is soon helped on his quest by the aging Tuahir (Aladino Jasse). Although he fails to notice Muidinga's tendency to invent stories from the diary, Tuahir's eagerness to help leads them both on a long, arduous journey, as they travel from one refugee camp to the next in search of their goal.
