This documentary takes a look at one of The Netherlands' greatest players of all-time and a legend at the World Cup Ruud Gullit. Born in Amsterdam on September 1st 1962 Ruud Gullit played for a number of the top Dutch clubs before Italian Media Mogul - and recently deposed Italian premier - Silvio Berlusconi paid a record 6 million fee to bring him to A.C. Milan. Alongside fellow countrymen Marco van Basten and Frank Rijkaard Gullit thrived at Milan and in the national team as an incredibly powerful and creative midfield player. Not only did he play in the Dutch... team that won the European Championship in 1988 collecting the award for European Player of the Year in 1987 but he also received the ultimate accolade of World Player of the Year in 1987 and 1989. The dreadlocked one made a surprising career change in 1995 when he signed for Glenn Hoddle's Chelsea; taking over as player-manager when Hoddle went off to coach England. And of course without Gullit we wouldn't have the term 'sexy football'! This documentary features interviews with residents from Gullit's hometown and the people who were influential in his life. Not only that but Gullit himself offers his own thoughts on his achievements. With a smattering of top quality footage of Gullit in action this is ideal viewing for fans of the player and the game.
