This science fiction thriller stars Jake Gyllenhaall as a US Army helicopter pilot (Colter Stevens) who is involved in a classified government program called Source Code which enables him to exist for a short while (eight minutes) inside the body of another man. Using several short bouts in his parallel existence he sets out to find the identity of a bomber who destroyed a commuter train a few hours earlier so he can try to prevent him from carrying out a much larger bomb attack which will kill thousands of people in the middle of Chicago. Each time he is sent back... in he manages to vary the series of events in an attempt to prevent the bomb from going off. When his eight minutes are up each time, he finds himself returned to a pod back at headquarters where he receives further instructions from the authorities. As he unwittingly stumbles upon certain information about himself he begins to piece together the unusual circumstances of his own existence. Can he stop the second bomb from being detonated? What will become of Stevens himself?
