To make this programme we visited the Dean Forest Railway which winds its way through the picturesque Royal Forest in Gloucester. On visiting the line the best station to start your journey from is the lines HQ at Norchard from here leaving from the low level platform you can take a return trip by steam or diesel hauled train through Lydney Town St. Mary's Halt to Lydney Junction. On returning to Norchard you can then take a further journey from the high level platform by a Diesel Multiple Unit to Whitecroft Soon this part of the line will be extended to Parkend....
