Long-time losers Skip Donahue (Gene Wilder) and Harry Monroe (Richard Pryor) are hired to wear woodpecker costumes to help promote a bank's opening, only to be wrongfully imprisoned when a pair of criminals, wearing identical outfits, rob the bank.
