Indie drama depicting a group of rebellious young Muslim friends living in upstate New York. Straight-laced Pakistani-born engineering student Yusef (Bobby Naderi) takes a room in a house inhabited by a group of punky Muslim misfits: guitarist Jehangir (Dominic Rains), skateboarder Amazing Ayyub (Volkan Eryaman), stoner Fasiq (Ian Tran), Koran-obsessed Umar (Nav Mann) and burqa-clad wild child Rabeya (Noureen DeWulf). When Yusef's new housemates introduce him to the hardcore Muslim punk rock scene known as 'Taqwacore', Yusef becomes more and more absorbed in its seemingly contradictory culture, which ultimately leads him to question his own ideologies and beliefs.
