Director Alex Gibney's documentary takes an in-depth look at the mistreatment of prisoners of the US in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay. Using interviews with politicians, soldiers and activists, the film examines America's response to terrorism in the wake of 9/11, including its use of 'extraordinary rendition', the process whereby prisoners are flown to countries where torture is sanctioned.
