During Britain's 'Darkest Hours' the German Luftwaffe and flying bombs caused devastation and chaos across the north of England and parts of Scotland. With the fall of France and Norway Hitler had a convenient launchpad to turn Britain into a ""garden of ruin"". Industrial areas and factories producing war materials were targeted by the bombers but nothing it seems could dampen people's spirits or their determination to keep Britain armed.
