The Cassidys, or Na Casadigh, are originally from the Irish speaking area of north-west Donegal, but now living in Dublin. They have emerged at the forefront of Irish Traditional and Folk Music, with their original interpretation of Irish melodies, and their spontaneous playing and singing. Steeped in Irish culture, they include many songs in the Irish language in their repertoire. They have represented Ireland at numerous state occasions and have toured extensively in America, playing major concert halls like Radio City Music Hall, New York and the Massey Hall in Toronto. Many of the pieces in this programme are of historical interest and most of these are accompanied by images of Ireland, past and present.
