Thomas Vinterberg directs and co-writes this drama set in 1970s Denmark. Liberal couple Erik (Ulrich Thomsen) and Anna (Trine Dyrholm) are academics who decide to turn Erik's inheritance, an expansive home in Copenhagen, into a commune. They begin welcoming additional residents and hold house meetings, dinners and parties. Everything seems to be going well until Anna's open-mindedness is put to the test when Erik introduces his mistress Emma (Helene Reingaard Neumann) to the cooperative.
