Drama directed by Barney Elliott and starring Stephen Dorff. In the midst of the crumbling Peruvian economy, American investment banker Oliver Campbell (Dorff) spends two years doing everything he can to corner the market on Peruvian bonds and land rights. Only one stubborn farmer remains to prevent Campbell from achieving this, but just when he and his associate are about to deal with this final problem Campbell's superior orders him to abandon the project and up sticks within a week. Campbell's situation becomes bound up with those of the defiant farmer's son, who has been thrown out of his home until he recovers an alpaca he lost, and a nurse who cannot afford the essential surgery her mother requires and so turns to selling drugs.
