Feature-length anime spin-off from the series 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya'. Kyon (voice of Tomokazu Sugita) is used to erratic behaviour from his friend and classmate, Haruhi (Aya Hirano). After all, Haruhi is the girl who stood up on her first day at school and announced that she wasn't interested in normal people, only 'time-travellers, aliens, and ESP-ers', and formed her own club, the 'SOS Brigade', to check out unusual occurrences. As a member of this club, Kyon is puzzled when all the other members either disappear or claim they are unable to remember who he is. Haruhi herself has gone missing and Kyon is disconcerted to realise that he misses her badly. Can Kyon unravel the mystery and bring back the lively Haruhi?
