Writer and director Jean-Claude Brisseau stars alongside Virginie Legeay in this French philosophical horror. Retired maths teacher and widower Michel (Brisseau) lives alone in a Parisian apartment building while writing a book on man's illusory beliefs. When he finds a beaten young woman (Legeay) on his doorstep he vows to help her by contacting the police but before he can do so she expresses her wishes to be taken in and given the chance to rest. As the pair then get to know each other, Michel makes the girl his editorial assistant but when it appears she has some abilities beyond the realm of human understanding he believes she may hold some connection to his dead wife.
