Mercer (Lou Taylor Pucci) steals a car to escape his small Oregon town and find his older brother after a tragic loss in the family. But once on the road he becomes strangely attached to phone calls from Kate (Zooey Deschanel) the forgiving and mysterious girl who owns the car he stole.
