The Guinea Pig Club was formed of patients of Archibald McIndoe at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, Sussex who underwent reconstructive plastic surgery during World War Two.('What was McIndoe like'? 'A God really...'). In this 1980 Thames TV documentary, Guinea Pig survivors, some of whom underwent as many as seventy operations, tell their compelling and utterly amazing stories with self deprecating humour and modesty. Extensive archive footage is used to illustrate their stories in this wonderful story of courage and comradeship.
