A bird-watcher finds his space being invaded by a suspicious stranger in this low-key thriller from director Marek Losey. Eccentric 'twitcher' Roy (Alex MacQueen) spends his spare time on the Sussex mudflats trying to spot the one final bird - a sociable Plover - that will finally allow him to complete the British List. With only his short-wave radio and sandwiches for company, and with a storm approaching, Roy settles down in his hide and prepares for the long stint ahead. But his tranquility is soon shattered by the arrival of Dave (Phil Campbell), a rough-at-the-edges fugitive from the weather, whose appearance and bad grammar soon bring out the worst in Roy. Although the two men soon find that they have more in common than they at first thought, the situation turns tense when news comes over the radio of a police manhunt.
