Comedy directed by John Jencks and starring Matthew Modine, Roger Allam and Tommy Knight. Ted Wallace (Allam), having been fired from his job with a newspaper, is keen to retreat to the country estate of an old friend. Having failed as a poet, a drama critic, and even as a husband, Ted has enough sorrows to drown to merit a lengthy stay at the estate, but soon finds another reason to linger there. The household is afire with adulation for supposed 'miracles' performed by Ted's godson David (Knight) and while his fellow guests are utterly taken in by David's performances, Ted resolves to reveal the truth behind David's 'miracles' and protect him from eternal embarrassment.
