The Iron Lady: Story Of Margaret Thatcher DVD

| DVD

Margaret Thatcher: Great Britain’s first and only female prime minister, elected three times and in power for almost 11 years. She was one of the most admired and most reviled contemporary political figures, whose political destiny was played out in three dramatic days, from November 20 to 22, 1999. From the preparation of her destitution to her political downfall, she was stabbed in the back by her own ministers, secretaries of state, advisors, campaign managers and the cabinet secretaries. Told by the ‘conspirators’ themselves, this is the incredible story of Margaret... Thatcher’s final days in power. Later, Lady Thatcher would tell her daughter Carol: “I will never forget... And I will never forgive them!” [show more]

Documentary exploring the career of the controversial former British prime minister, Margaret Thatcher, and the extraordinary political coup which removed her from power. Thatcher, nicknamed the 'Iron Lady' because of her personal abrasiveness and, in the view of some, harsh policies, was disliked by many during her time in power. However, it was her own party that ultimately ended her political career, as Michael Heseltine's leadership challenge sparked an incredible series of events that led to the deposed Thatcher leaving Downing Street in tears.
