Thriller based on the novella by H.G. Wells. Michael York stars as Braddock, a young Englishman who is rescued from a shipwreck in the middle of the Pacific Ocean by the mysterious Dr. Montgomery (Nigel Davenport). Braddock accompanies Montgomery and his cargo of wild animals to a nearby tropical island. As Braddock spends more time on the island he begins to familiarise himself with the natives, who are unlike any other humans he has encountered before. It soon becomes apparent that these 'men' are in fact experimental reconstructions from wild animals created by deranged scientist Dr. Moreau (Burt Lancaster).
