In 1990 the Kinks were included into the Rock n Roll hall of fame at the time only the fourth UK group to take the honour behind the Beatles Rolling Stones and the Who. Much of the Britpop movement from the mid-90's acknowledged a considerable debt to Ray Davies as one of the key influences.
