Built in 1944 the Sunderland's history is quite amazing serving in the war witrh the 201 422 and 330 squadrons then serving with the RNZAF bringing medical supplies to the Islands of the South Pacific. Later adapted to a civil airliner the Sunderland provided an essential link between Lord Howe Island and Australia.
