Lloyd Bridges, Moira Lister and Leslie Phillips star in this 1950s British crime drama. Frank Pryor (Bridges) is visiting England from America in the hope of rekindling a wartime romance when he witnesses a man being shot. Disturbed by the crime, said to have been executed by a sniper known as 'the limping man', Pryor nonetheless proceeds to track down actress Pauline French (Lister), his love from the war. He is surprised to learn that Pauline, an expert shot, knew the man who was killed. Scotland Yard's Detective Cameron (Phillips) is equally intrigued by the connection and makes Pryor and French his prime suspects for the murder. Will his suspicions be proved correct or will events take an unforeseen turn?
