Colonial African drama starring Sidney Poitier. After finishing his political studies in London, Obam (Poitier) returns to his African homeland, taking a post with the white-dominated government. With racial tensions rising, Obam soon finds he has to choose between seeking a peaceful resolution with his colonial masters, or siding with the rebel opposition led by his brother, Kanda (Clifton Macklin).
