Terry George directs this historical drama about the Armenian Genocide starring Oscar Isaac, Charlotte Le Bon and Christian Bale. The film follows Michael Boghosian (Isaac), a young medical student from a small Armenian village who promises himself to a wealthy local girl in order to fund his studies in Constantinople. While there he meets American reporter Christopher Myers (Bale) and his Armenian girlfriend Ana (Le Bon), who he soon develops strong feelings for. Narrowly avoiding military service with the help of a rich friend, Michael and Ana are thrust together by an eruption of anti-Armenian violence in the city which leaves both in severe danger. With Chris trying to report on the atrocities the Ottoman government continues to deny, Michael is forced to travel back to his village in an attempt to save his family as he and Ana look for a way to survive the bloodshed.
