In the '80s one of Britains most celebrated and critically lauded musicians Paul Weller formed The Style Council. A group of talented and politically-minded musicians gathered together in the wake of The Jam. Lyricist singer and guitarist Weller together with keyboardist Mick Talbot released their incredibly successful album Introducing the Style Council.Their musical style took on elements of black funk and white soul but the lyrics became more socially critical which sat in contrast to their playful music and dreamy ballads.
