The Thick of It - Series 4 DVD

| DVD

Government embarrassment, ministerial cock-up, coalition rows, backroom deals, policy U-turns, spin-doctoring, political back-stabbing, wild media speculation, and more time spent with ones family. It can only be the eagerly-anticipated return of Armando Iannucci's Westminster political comedy. Rebecca Front and Peter Capaldi reprise their BAFTA-winning roles as Nicola Murray and Malcolm Tucker, now consigned to the opposition benches, but still desperate for power. Roger Allam returns as Peter Mannion, the new Secretary of State for Social Affairs, supported by his... team of special advisors and thwarted by his new coalition partners. [show more]

From the creator of THE DAY TODAY and I'M ALAN PARTRIDGE, the award-winning, and critically acclaimed series THE THICK OF IT is a biting comedy satire set in the world of Westminster politics. The forth series sees a reverse in fortune for Nicola Murray (Rebecca Front), Malcolm Tucker (Peter Capaldi) and Ollie Reeder (Chris Addison), with the government and opposition having switched places following last series' election. With Nicola somehow now leader of the opposition, the episodes swing back and forth between her beleaguered team and Peter Mannion's (Roger Allam) feuding new coalition. Age Rating 15

All six episodes from the fourth series of the award-winning BBC satirical political comedy drama written and directed by Armando Iannucci. In this series, world-weary Secretary of State for Social Affairs, Peter Mannion (Roger Allam), is none too enthusiastic about launching his Coalition partner Fergus (Geoffrey Streatfield)'s new 'Networked Nation' policy. Meanwhile, over in the opposition camp, attack-dog policy enforcer Malcolm Tucker (Peter Capaldi) continues his relentless quest to undermine/oust newly installed leader, Nicola Murray MP (Rebecca Front).
