An unwitting maths teacher on holiday in Venice gets his world turned upside down by a mysterious woman he meets on the train.
Frank (Johnny Depp) is quietly minding his own business, his head buried in a book, waiting for his train to arrive in Venice; his holiday destination of choice. However, when the mysterious Elise (Angelina Jolie) sits down next to him, everything changes.
Unbeknownst to him, Elise has just chosen him as her decoy; her ex boyfriend Alexander Pearce is in trouble - he owes money to some unfriendly people, so Elise's task;... choose a man that resembles Alexander and convince the police it is him; Frank just so happens to be that man.
