Juanita Wilson writes and directs this adaptation of Daniel Woodrell's novel. The film follows small-town drifter and ex-con Sammy Barlach (Jake Weary) as he forms a close relationship with Jamalee Merridew (Julia Garner). Both dream of getting out of the Ozarks of Missouri with Jamalee hoping to take advantage of her brother Jason (Nick Roux)'s handsome looks to get her out of town. But unfortunately their dreams don't work out quite as well in reality...
