The Kent and East Sussex Railway was built in the 19th century by Colonel Stevens. The line wound its picturesque way through the garden of England peacefully until 1961 when it was closed down by British Rail. The working life of the railway beginning in the 1930s is beautifully chronicled in this DVD. Highlights which include rare colour footage shot in 1950 also tell of the troubled but ultimately triumphant efforts of a gang of preservationists to restore the railway to its former glory and once more send Trains to Tenderden.
