Feature documentary about American writer Dalton Trumbo. Imprisoned after refusing to comply with the House Committee on Un-American Activities, the screenwriter and novelist was unable to work using his own name for years to come. As well as providing a portrayal of the life and career of Trumbo, the film takes a look at the effect the HCUA's hunt for communists had on the accused and their families, and features stars such as Dustin Hoffman, Kirk Douglas, Paul Giamatti, Liam Neeson and Donald Sutherland.
