Twins Viola and Sebastian are shipwrecked on the coast of Illyria and separated, each believing the other dead. Viola disguises herself as a man, and soon Sebastian is being mistaken for her and vice versa. Matters are complicated when the beautiful Olivia falls in love with Viola, whom she believes to be male.
