Directed by Catherine Hardwicke and based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer, Twilight (2008) is a fantasy film that follows Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) a teenage school girl who falls in love with a mysterious vampire.
On her first day of school Bella sits next to Edward (Robert Pattinson) in a Biology class but they don't hit it off. A few days later, Edward saves Bella's life by stopping a van that's about to run her over. Bella is confused by his super-human strength, but Edward refuses to give her an explanation and instead warns her against becoming... friends with him.
Eventually the pair fall in love and Bella learns of Edward's vampire secret. She is introduced to his family and his world, but when James, a tracker vampire, visits the family he is puzzled by Edward's fondness of the human and decides to hunt her for sport. Edward must fight to save Bella as blood thirsty James won't stop until she's dead.
