Scalphunter Jeremiah Bridger has resolved to spend his life killing Indians in order to revenge their senseless massacre of his parents and young sister. When he is shot by a couple of henchmen in the employ of crooked local businessman Perkins, it seems he might finally be about to meet his maker. But then he is nursed back to health by a travelling medicine man who also tells him that it was Perkins, not the Indians, who bears the ultimate responsibility for his parent's death.
