Lowlife cable TV operator Max Renn discovers a ""snuff TV"" broadcast called Videodrome which is much more than it seems. It's an experiment that causes brain damage. Looking for new thrills, cable TV programmer Max Renn (James Woods) stumbles upon an S&M satellite channel called 'Videodrome', which seems to depict real people being killed and tortured. His kinky girlfriend, Nicki (Debbie Harry), is somehow involved in the station, and as Max becomes more addicted to the violence it depicts on the screen, the boundary between real life and television disappears amidst a host of increasingly bizarre hallucinations.
