Historical drama starring John Malkovich as the title character. After defeating the French in the Serra do Buçaco, the Anglo-Portuguese Army commanded by the Duke of Wellington retreat from their opponents to lure them to Torres Vedras. Here they have built-up their defences and burned land along the way to stop their enemy collecting supplies, using the harsh terrain to their benefit. This is the story of the troop's retreat from their invaders and the impending war they face when they eventually arrive.
