Made-for-TV martial arts thriller. In 1920s China, the country is held in the grip of ruthless warlords who terrorise the population, imposing their will unchecked. The only hope lies with an order of Wudang monks who alone stand in the way of the hated warlord Kahn Xin (Kay Tong Lim). Led by their spiritual master White Crane (David Carradine), the monks avoid confrontation until the day when the warlord's army storms their temple, murdering female grandmaster Myling (Pei-pei Cheng) in the process. Now bent on revenge, White Crane embarks on a journey leading him into the deadly world of Shanghai's underground, as he seeks justice and a final showdown with his nemesis.
