The third instalment of the gritty American drama series that follows the trials encountered by the emerging Mormon church as it struggles to find its place. As Joshua Steed (Eric Johnson) returns to Missouri with his new wife, he soon encounters problems when he's placed at the head of an army, raised by Governer Boggs, that plans to deal with 'the Mormon problem'. It's not long before rising tensions cause deep divisions within the family, testing family loyalties and trust.

This film is the third and final part in an adaptation of the novels of author Gerald N Lund which concern the early history of Jesus Christ
