The England Football Team is the oldest national football team in the world playing their first official match against Scotland in 1872 resulting in a 0 - 0 draw. Over the next 140 years the national side would play more than 900 matches and select nearly 1 200 players to represent their country. Selecting a Top 100 is not an easy task although there are those who were virtually guaranteed their place including the seven players to have reached the centurion mark (Billy Wright Bobby Charlton Bobby Moore Peter Shilton David Beckham Steven Gerrard and Ashley... Cole) or those with phenomenal goal scoring records such as Jimmy Greaves Michael Owen and Frank Lampard. Here however are those that made the grade.
