Desmond Dekker captured live in London. Tracklist: Cherry Oh Baby Honour Your Mother And Father Get Up Edina Good Loving It Mek King Of Ska Half Way To Paradise Rude Boy Train Ska Stomp Sing A Little Song Medley (007/All I Have To Do Is Dream/Baby Come Back/Pass The Dutchie/Wimoweh/Sugar Sugar/Jamaican Ska) Day-o Ska Stomp Israelites You Can Get It If You Really Want It. In terms of Jamaican music Desmond Dekker truly deserves the title `Superstar'. Not only has he been recording music for nearly forty years but also he was the first Jamaican artist to gain a major hit in the UK and other major worldwide territories. This in itself was an amazing achievement coming at a time when the music establishment in the UK was resistant to non-mainstream forms of music. The effect was to pave the way for other Reggae artists. They won the 1968 Jamaican Festival Song Competition with the song `Music Like Dirt' continuing to score a string of hits throughout the rest of the year. During the first week of December the initial mix of `A It Mek' saw release quickly followed by `Israelites' that struck a chord with his UK fans. It entered the UK charts going all the way to No.1 making history in the process and then re-entered the charts later in the same year. The UK Punk explosion spawned a Skinhead revival which split into separate branches. Whilst one followed bands like Sham 69 another discovered its Reggae roots. Desmond Dekker was feted once more and joined Stiff Records. He remained with Stiff from 1980 until 1983 going on to renew his working relationship with Trojan in the mid-eighties. Throughout the last 20 years or more although further chart success has been elusive Desmond has been in constant demand on the live circuit where he is always supported by guitarist/singer and long-time friend Delroy Williams.

Great men live and die by their ideals their beliefs and firm convictions. ""Dharmatma"" is a film dealing with such men. Their values of life are strong their passion and hatred are equally strong. 'Dharmatma's' story emerges from a strong conflict between father and son - a story which keeps the gigantic characters standing miles apart in their approach towards life. Father believes strongly that the end justifies the means. The son negates this dogma - he believes that the means are as important as the end. This basic conflict creates an unbridgable gulf between the two. It takes the son away to the rugged land of Afganistan to the picturesque valley of Bamiyan to the ink blue lakes of Bande-Amir. Here the story takes a most dramatic turn and leads you through an unforgettable saga of love where only the fittest could survive.'Dharmatma' is not merely a film but an epic of life - where one event leads to another where a man lays down his life for the sake of his ideals a man who is an institution unto himself. The film with its technical and visual brilliance has a strong message to convey. A message to the youth of this nation a message to the leaders of our nation that patriotism is not a mere sentiment - it is an action of principles based on the strength of character beyond the narrow circle of self interest.
