  The Rocky Horror Show with music and lyrics by Richard O'Brien was born at the Royal Court's tiny Theatre Upstairs on June 16 1973 and went on to become an international stage smash hit and a major film. Richard O'Brien's Rocky Horror Tribute Show is a concert featuring the music from The Rocky Horror Show and was recorded at the Royal Court London in May 2006 to an audience of faithful Rocky Horror fans. Brad and Janet are forced to examine their own sexuality as the voluptuous doctor releases the hidden desires in each of them. The show features unforgettable song-and-dance numbers such as 'Time Warp' and 'Sweet Transvestite' which have come to represent the sexual liberation of the 1970s.   In January 1961 Bob Dylan arrived at Greenwich Village the very place for a folksinger-poet. The Village had already gained a reputation for Bohemian ways and had given birth to a generation of beatniks courtesy of a generation of beat poets including Allen Ginsberg. It was in the Village s clubs that the early protest songs that became the anthems of the protest movements were written and it was here that he honed his craft playing alongside other legendary figures such as Dave Van Ronk and Tom Paxton. It was in New York that he was to change his name to Bob Dylan and after his conversion to the electric guitar he was to remember New York in the bitter Positively Fourth Street. In this hit song he replied to the friends that he'd made in the Fourth Street clubs who had become his most vituperative critics (Bob had also lived on Fourth Street). The Chelsea Hotel the Carnegie Hall... these are just two further names without which no attempt to approach the life and times of Dylan would be complete. This is Positively Bob Dylan.

  The Art of Exotic Dancing for Everyday Women is an American offering that might have been more honestly titled, The Art of Ridiculous Dancing for Desperate Women. The emphasis on late thirty-to-fiftysomething women turning to exotic dancing--of the men's club variety as opposed to the ancient art of belly dancing--turns it into more of a chat show-cum-documentary instead of a "how to" lesson in seriously sexy moves. As an older woman rather than a bouncing busty babe, presenter Laurie Conrad doesn't intimidate, and her teaching is simple and certainly nurturing. Her session consists of walking (essentially a step, drag, step, drag move), a series of hip rolls (in which an imaginary turkey tray is crucial), floorwork (predictable gyrating) and a finale striptease that incorporates the lot. Too much focus on the real women is distracting, and there is a lack of hardcore dance technique. Though it might just about appeal to an older female audience looking for a confidence boost, the lack of humour means this comes across as silly rather than sexy. --Lorna V
