Sail away to follow your dreams Christopher Lloyd leads the cast in a family drama about two outcasts who dream of escaping to a better life. Abner is a widower living a reclusive life in a coastal town. Having alienated his family and withdrawn from the small, tight knit community, he spends his days building a sailboat in his yard. When neglected 9-year-old orphan Rick hides on Abner's property, the irascible old sea captain reluctantly agrees to protect the lonely boy from a gang of local bullies on one condition: that he help him finish his half-built boat. Both have found themselves on the periphery. Abner's daughter Katherine wants him to move to a residence for seniors, or a garbage dump for old trash, according to Abner; while Rick's uncle plans to send him to a children's home. The pair gradually forge an unlikely bond as the boat becomes their one chance to escape from the seaside village that harbours their misery. Written and directed by Arnold Grossman, The Boat Builder stars Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future; Taxi) as Abner, Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle) as Katherine and introducing Tekola Cornetet as Rick.
One man's dream becomes another man's destiny in this warm-hearted story about a life-changing chance encounter. Robert Carlyle is Frank Keane, a baker by trade but now a man consumer by grief after his wife dies. Driving his delivery van he comes across a car crash and finds a seriously injured man trapped at the wheel. As he lies dying, Steve Mills (John Goodman) tells Frank that he was on his way to meet a long-lost sweetheart from 40 years ago, and makes him promise to attend the reunion in his place. Reluctantly Frank finds himself drawn into an eccentric and equally lonely group of people at a dance school, from needy instructor Marienne (Mary Steenburgen), to painfully shy Meredith (Marisa Tomei) and jealous Randall (Donnie Wahlberg). Frank soon finds himself swept away by the exhilarating power of dance, and persuades his widowers support group to join the class. Through flashbacks, Steve's story unfolds as Frank learns to overcome his loss and face the future. A story about broken dreams and new beginnings, and the astonishing ways our lives design themselves.
A mock-reverent look at the life and career of a venerable old actor... a marvellous jape. People Magazine First time on DVD Harry Enfield's mockumentary, first shown on Channel 4 in 1989, is a hilarious send-up of biopics and British cinema. Melvyn Bragg (as himself) arrives at the country residence of Sir Norbert Smith (Enfield) in the week of his 80th birthday, to reminisce about a distinguished acting career that ranged from a whimsical Hamlet to a coveted role as the face of Sudso washing powder. Sir Norbert's patchy recollections, addled by drink, are accompanied by jovial clips from the thespian knight's greatest hits from comedy capers Oh, Mr Bankrobber!, Passport to Puddlewitch and Whimsy Galore! to the shocking tale of 1930s juvenile delinquency Rebel Without a Tie. He bravely serves the war effort by scuttling off to Hollywood to make atrocious musicals about London and the Blitz, and leads the cast of British Western They Called Him Stranger and Rover Returns Home, a very English take on the Lassie series. It's Grim Up North reprises the unremitting misery of 1960s social realism; while the WWII epic Dogs of Death finds Norbert joining an all-star cast determinedly drinking their way through the film's considerable budget. In his final role he gamely plays Nelson Mandela (as Alec Guinness was unavailable). Conversations with Sir Norbert's equally frazzled contemporaries complete the portrait of the great man as a dizzying array of famous actors and productions are gently lampooned. The cast includes Josie Lawrence (Whose Line Is It Anyway?), self-parodying Carry On regulars Jack Douglas, Barbara Windsor and Kenneth Connor, and Renée Asherson as Lady Norbert.

Being young and madly in love with a goddess can be stressful even with a couple as relaxed and devoted as Keiichi and Belldandy.
